Keeping Track
It turns out that in most health care systems in the United States, no one is keeping track of your exposure to medical tests, or to the radiation exposure to which you have been exposed. It is possible your provider doesn't even know what tests you've received. Often our medical records don't follow us from one place to the next. An ordinary physician does not have access to all of your records. Sometimes we repeat examinations that don't need to be repeated. You should keep track of the tests you have undergone, and share this information with your provider.

Natasha's Story

When Natasha got sick, she discovered that medical records don't always follow the patient from one place to the next. In her case this almost resulted in additional testing.
